KENDALLVILLE — Jeffery W. Johnson, 35, of Kendallville, died unexpectedly with his son by his side on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at his residence. He was born on September 27, 1979, to Gregory P. Johnson and Linda Tison. Jeff was the owner and operator of Johnson Flooring. His mother, Linda, wrote the following: How does a mother put into words what a wonderful son, brother, friend, but most of all, a terrific loving father Jeff was to his son Tyson. Tyson was his world and the reason he worked so hard to care and provide for him. Jeff also raised his stepdaughter Jasmine for the early years of her life. She was his girl. Jeff was a tender-hearted man always there to help others anyway he could. He was a hard worker and was a craftsman at many things. He was a fantastic cook that enjoyed cooking meals for his family. He loved to play the guitar and enjoyed drawing characters. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed watching games with his son and family. He loved the holidays with his son and family and made everything special. As our family says goodbye for now may we live our lives to meet him in heaven. Surviving Jeff is his son, Tyson Johnson of Kendallville; a stepdaughter, Jasmine Ryan of LaGrange; a mother and stepfather, Linda and Deano Battenberg of Fort Wayne; a father and stepmother, Gregory and Eva Johnson of Wolcottville; a brother and sister-in-law, Brian and Rebecca Johnson of Wolcottville; a sister and brother-in-law, Kristen and Brian Randol of Wolcottville; two nieces, Lindsay Johnson and Ali Grace Randol; and two nephews, Landon Johnson and Kyle Randol. Funeral Services are being held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at the Frurip-May Funeral Home, 309 W. Michigan St. LaGrange, Indiana, with the Pastor Mike Stanley officiating. A visitation will take place on Monday, April 20t, from 3-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will take place after the funeral service.
