Jean Harper CrenshawJean Harper Crenshaw passed into God's loving arms on December 31, 2016, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's. She was born on September 8, 1932, in Armistead LA. Jean met the love of her life, Billy E. Crenshaw, in their hometown of Shreveport LA, after attending Byrd H.S. and graduating from secretarial school. They were married on November 11, 1951.Jean was a devoted wife and mother and she loved cooking, sewing and attending church. She showed her Christian faith by helping those less fortunate and being involved with special citizens events with her daughter Robin. She enjoyed helping with children and seeing birds from her window.Jean is survived by her loving husband, Billy Crenshaw and daughter Debbie Crenshaw of Tyler TX; daughter Karen Swenson (Dale) of Suwanee GA; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Lillie Mae and Zachary Lee Harper, Sr; siblings Ione Webb, Martil La Caze, Z.L. Harper Jr. and Waymon Harper; and her youngest daughter Robin.Jean's family wishes to thank the compassionate caregivers at Brookdale South and Hospice of East Texas and the staff at Hilliard's Funeral Home. A life celebration service is planned for the future at her final resting place near Mt. Zion UMC in Deberry TX.
