Marissen, Jantien "Jenny" Beloved Wife, Mother and OmaWe love you so much,We miss you even more,And forever you will be in our hearts.On Sunday, March 12, 2017 Jenny passed away peacefully at RUH, Saskatoon SK. She was predeceased by her loving husband Gene. Jenny is survived by her six children: Jack (Connie) Marissen and their children Melanie (Danny) Reid and Kevin (Traci) Marissen and their son Connor; John (Wilma) Marissen and their children Steven, Brandy and Angela (Paul) Snell and their daughter Carrie-Anne of Aberdeen, SK; Tim Marissen (Cindy Johnston) of Pike Lake, SK and her son Michael Johnston; Gene Marissen (Annette) and his children Steven and Ryan; Margaret Marissen and son Gabriel of Toronto, ON and Carol Marissen (Walter), brothers John Germs, Ed (Marianne) Germs of Saskatoon; brother and sisters in Holland: Jacob Germs, Stientje Krol, Geesje (Piet) Kamerling; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law in Holland: Teunus Marissen, Geertje Marissen, Jantinus (Geesje) Marissen, Janny Lippold; cousin Rina Germs of Saskatoon; as well numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jenny was predeceased by parents Jan and Jantina Germs; sister Trijntje Germs; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Tina Germs, Trientje Germs, Rieks Krol, Roelof Marissen, Jantje Marissen, Gerard Lippold; and cousin John Germs. Jenny was born on September 1, 1934 in Holland. On November 14, 1952 she married Gesinus (Gene) Marissen. They left Holland in 1957 to live in Saskatoon. Jenny extended her kindness and warmth to all, always thinking of others before herself. She loved being a Mother and Oma. Visiting and spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her so much joy. If you came to Jenny's house you knew how much she loved gardening, flowers, baking, cooking and a warm visit. Many summers were enjoyed in Meota with husband Gene, family and friends. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home (east on 8th Street, first right past Briargate Road) officiated by Rev. Dave Moors. Interment will take place in the Garden of The Old Rugged Cross at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. In memory of (Jantien) Jenny, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
