Janice Bybee Elgan WiseJanice Bybee Elgan Wise passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at the age of 82. She was born on November 21, 1931 to noble parents Jesse Hoyt and Estella Lenore Bybee Elgan in Medford, Oregon. She spent much of her early years in Oregon, Anchorage, Alaska and Salmon, Idaho. Upon graduating from Salmon High School she left to attend L.D.S. Business College in Salt Lake City, Utah. While there she met a handsome young man who was attending Brigham Young University who became the love of her life, Boyd Eugene Wise. They were married in the Mesa Arizona LDS Temple on September 5, 1950. They enjoyed their early years in Salt Lake City while Boyd finished his college degree and his ROTC training. They embarked on a military career which led them to many states from Arizona, Alabama, Utah, Virginia, Ohio and Idaho. It wasn't an easy life moving around so frequently but mom had a quiet strength and never complained about the upheaval of relocating her family. They finally settled in Caldwell, Idaho upon retirement from the Air Force in 1976. They met new friends and had many adventures along the way. They were blessed with five children who were greatly loved. Mom found joy and fulfillment in her family, friends, genealogy, her garden and good books. She enjoyed the simple things in life and was always grateful for them. She enjoyed the mountains of Idaho and the many trips they took with friends and family. Janice is survived by her dear companion of 64 years, Boyd; her five children: David L. (Debbie) Wise, Bentonville, Arkansas, Karen W. (Craig) Morley, Phoenix, Arizona, Owen R. (fiancé Linda) Wise, Caldwell, Idaho, Martin R. Wise and Eric L. (Maurine) Wise, Caldwell, Idaho; her siblings: Jess (Nancy) Elgan, Doug (Clarelyn) Elgan, and Mary Adams; two sisters-in-law Diane Wise Grant and Gaye Elise Wise; 14 beloved grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2014 at the Caldwell East LDS Stake Center, 11792 Linden Rd, Caldwell. A Viewing will be held at the church from 1 to 1:45 a.m. Monday prior to the services and from 6 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, May 18 at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N Midland Blvd, Nampa. 467-7300.
