Janet Ella Davis Wolford1929 - 2014River Heights - Janet Ella Davis Wolford, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada surrounded by her loving family. Janet was born on Oct. 15, 1929 in Logan, Utah and was the fifth child of seven in the John and Ella Davis family. She was fortunate to grow up in a big family and they all remained close through the years. Janet married Donald L. Wolford on April 23, 1948 in the Logan LDS Temple. They were able to celebrate their 50th and 60th anniversaries with all their immediate family in attendance. Janet spent many happy years in her "little Swedish" home in River Heights. She lived near her parents and many siblings. Her greatest joy came from all her family members and she was especially close to her mom, her dad, her sisters, brothers and cousins.She had wonderful friends and was part of a club that met once a month for over 50 years. Mom loved her family, especially her sweet companion Don. She was always there for her kids, their friends and her grandchildren. Nothing brought her greater joy than having family and friends visit. Mom loved her Father in Heaven, her Savior Jesus Christ, her family and friends. She had a strong testimony of the gospel and was able to serve in many callings over the years.Although she suffered from different health issues and from Parkinson's Disease in her last few years she had a very strong spirit and kept going the best she could.The family would like to extend a special thanks to her dear caretaker, Wenie Cortez and Kelby and Kim at the St. Rose Care facility. Also many thanks to Solarie Hospice Care in Las Vegas, Nevada. The love and tender care she received was priceless to her family.What a happy reunion there will be with her parents, her in-laws, her sisters, brother and especially her loving husband Don.She leaves behind her five children; Julie and Dick King; Mike and Pat Wolford; Allan and Laura Wolford; LuElla and Vern Holt; Jay and Gayle Wolford. She has 20 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter, her sister, Faye and Reed Durham, sister-in-law, Jane Davis, a brother, Johnny and Shirley Davis, her cousin, Annette Smith.She is preceded in death by her husband Don, a brother, Lehi Davis, sisters, Dorothy Thunell, Barbara Campbell and Maurine Uzelac.We will miss you, Mom, but know that you are free at last in the arms of our Savior. Peace be to your sweet spirit until we meet again.Funeral services will be held Monday, April 7, 2014 at 12 p.m. in the Allen-Hall Mortuary. There will be a viewing Sunday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Monday. Interment will follow in the Providence Cemetery.
