SPENCERVILLE — James E. Rinard, age 82, of Spencerville passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at DeKalb Health in Auburn. Mr. Rinard was born on June 22, 1934 in Fort Wayne to Erwin and Elizabeth (Wyer) Rinard. He married Mabel L. Schaftner on September 18, 1955 in Angola. She preceded him in death on January 8, 2013. Mr. Rinard honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1956 to 1962. He worked at Universal Tool and Stamping in Butler from 1952 to 1956. He then worked for 41 years at Aro Corporation in Bryan, Ohio retiring in 1997. Mr. Rinard was a member of the Spencerville Volunteer Fire Department for 33 years until 2009. He was also a member of the Spencerville United Methodist Church and he coached little league baseball in St. Joe for years. Jim enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He never would miss an event that his grandkids were participating in. Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Barb Rinard of Brooklyn, Michigan, and Gary and Jeannette Rinard of Angola; a daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Chester Kotzenmoyer of Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren, Derick Rinard, Andrea Hager, Austin Rinard, Lyndsay Lee, Landon Buesching, Logan Buesching, Casey Heller, Samantha Rinard and Tori Getts; seven great-grandchildren, Makenzi Rinard, Olivia Rinard, Audra Rinard, Garrett Hager, Nolan Rinard, Georgia Lee and Hannah Buesching; brother Norman Rinard of Spencerville; brother and sister-in-law Clarence and Barbara Rinard of Butler; and brother-in-law Dale Dirrim of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mabel; and sister Carol Dirrim. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Spencerville United Methodist Church, 5681 Church Street in Spencerville. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Additional visitation will be held on Friday, November 18, 2016 from 3-7 p.m. at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 South Wayne Street in Waterloo. Officiating the funeral service will be Pastor Ken Herb from the Spencerville United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the White City Cemetery in Spencerville.
