Woods, James MichaelJames M. "Jim" Woods, age 81, of Freedom, passed away peacefully in his sleep from pulmonary fibrosis on Friday, December 9, 2016. He was born on October 17, 1935, son of the late Leo and Cecelia (Thompson) Woods. Jim was a 1953 graduate of Hortonville High School, and was employed at Thilmany in Kaukauna for 40 years before his retirement. Jim married Pat Arnoldussen and they have celebrated over 59 years of marriage. Together, they enjoyed traveling, having visited all 50 states. They have lived on the family hobby farm since 1958 and enjoyed square dancing and snowmobiling. Jim was a charter member of the Dairyland Snowmobile Club. He also enjoyed going on the pontoon, fishing and gardening. Jim was a faithful member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom for over 58 years. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Pat; his children: Debra (Mel) Ver Voort, Amy Bradley, William (Debra) Woods, Tom (Paula) Woods, Daniel Woods, Bob (Mary) Woods, and Mary (Greg "Yogi") Greiner; grandchildren: Chrissy Murphy, Mandy Bradley, Joey Woods, Adam Woods, Brandon Greeneway, Samantha Woods, Cole Woods, Jason Woods, Brooke Woods, and Marisa Greiner; great grandchildren: Logan, Luc, Liam, and Lennon Murphy; sisters: Helen Calmes, Joan Gitter, Alice (Richard) Van Handel, and Catherine (Richard) Seidler; brothers and sisters-in-law: Elizabeth Walters, Cal (Mary) Engerson, and Rita Woods; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Cecelia; siblings: Gertrude (Bernard) Bruening, Mary (Robert) Reichle, Earl (Marie) Woods, Margaret (Jim) Jenkel, and John Woods; brothers-in-law: Larry Gitter and Frank Calmes. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, December 12, 2016, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, W2037 County Road S, Freedom, with Fr. Walter Stumpf officiating.
