James was born on July 19, 1930, and passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2018.

James was a resident of North Carolina at the time of passing. A resident of this area most of his life, he was a veteran of the US Army, serving in the Korean War.

He is survived by his children James Key Jr, Albert Key, Michael Key, Roxanne Key, LaWanda Key and grandchildren Marisol Key, Jonathon key, Timothy Key, Deshawn Key, Paris Key, Marsha Key, Juanita Key.

James Lee Key was a dedicated and devoted father and grandfather. He would always send gifts on birthdays and holidays. He always made sure his family didn't go without anything they needed to survive. He was a provider and comforter as well.

A service to celebrate Jim's life will be held on Friday, April 13th, at 2 pm, at Pine Grove Baptist Church, with Pastor Jack Tripp officiating.
