CROMWELL — James "Jimmy" Gibson Jr., age 79, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at his home in Cromwell, Indiana. He was born on July 7, 1937 to James and Mae (Lawson) Gibson Sr. in Norton, Virginia. Jimmy served from 1955-1957 in the United States Army. He worked for several years at Gates Rubber in Kentucky and Line and Green Leaf in Indiana. He then went on as a welder to the Conrail Railroad in the mid 1970s, where he retired. He really enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He took pride in his yard and those around. His door was always open to family and friends. His heart was very big and full of love for all. He enjoyed just sitting and carrying on a great conversation. He is survived by his children, Tommy (Traci) Gibson, Jason (Brandy) Gibson, Robert (Aleisha) Gibson, Jerry Havvert, David Depew, Angela Hall and Erin Collazo; siblings, Lila Brickey, Georgia (Harry) Suleski, Glenda (Lee Buddy) Brickey, and Johnetta Amaya; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, James Sr. and Mae Gibson; children, Jimmy Gibson, Stacey Gibson, Amy Martinez; and sister, Mary Bobby Ball. A funeral service in Jimmy's honor will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South Ligonier, Indiana. Pastor Benny Archer and Pastor Joseph Brickey will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier, Indiana. Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m.to 12 p.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, Indiana.
