James Daniel "Buddy" Robinett, 77, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016. Funeral: 9:30 a.m. Monday in Greenwood Chapel. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood, 3100 White Settlement Rd, Fort Worth, 76107. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of North Texas 1840 E Lancaster Ave, Fort Worth, 76103. Buddy was born on Sept. 16, 1939, in Corsicana. He later moved to Fort Worth, where he graduated from Arlington Heights High School in 1957 and from Texas Christian University in 1961. Buddy had a successful career in banking for over 30 years. He was an avid runner and enjoyed playing golf weekly with friends and family. Buddy was a quiet and humble man, who never boasted about himself or his deeds. He was strong in his convictions and believed in honor and loyalty. Those who were close to him knew the silent strength he possessed as well as his selfless devotion toward his family. He was always there when someone needed help and he never expected anything in return. Buddy exemplified the words "family tree" because he was always the trunk, securely based in the ground, supporting the familial branches with his unwavering support and love. This kindness spilled outside the family as well. For many years he quietly gave to multiple charities as well as the Humane Society of North Texas to help others (including animals) who needed a hand. Buddy was a great father and a dear friend to many. He will be missed greatly. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dianne Lavelle Robinett (Duke) in 1988. Survivors: Two sons, Jesse Duke Robinett and wife, Erin and Jason Earl Stripling and wife, Lindsey; two beautiful grandchildren, Sydney Dianne and James Daniel; his loving sister, Cissy Sachs Owings; his devoted niece, Sheryl Anne Sachs and her children, John Daniel Hemphill and Sophie Anne Hemphill; his mother, Jeanette Robinett; and nephew Buckley Sachs.
