RACINE - James Adolph Weidner, 82, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Willowcrest Healthcare in South Milwaukee. He was a lifelong resident of Racine, born on June 8, 1929, the son of the late Adolph and Lydia (nee: Wagner) Weidner. Jim served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1953. He was united in marriage to Janet Gordon, on September 6, 1958, at Atonement Lutheran Church. Jim had been employed with Twin Disc as an assembler for 24 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church and Twin Disc 20 year Club. Jim also enjoyed playing golf, chess, and stamp collecting. Surviving is his wife of 53 years, Janet; son, Gary; daughter, Gail and three grandsons, Steven, Moreland and Jordyn. Jim was preceded in death by an infant son, James; brother, David. Services will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Denise M.H. Mbise officiating. Jim will be laid to rest in a private family ceremony at Mound Cemetery. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Saturday, before services from 1 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Atonement Lutheran Church has been suggested.
