MARTINEAUJacqueline (nee Gieseke) Martineau, age 90 of Cincinnati, passed away Friday, February 3, 2017. Beloved wife of the late James Cook, and loving wife of her second husband the late Harry Martineau, devoted mother of James Cook, dear mother-in-law of Becky VanLandingham-Cook, cherished aunt of many nieces and nephews including Ron Gieseke (Jeannie), Robert Gieseke, Linda (Gene) Hickman, and Clark (Ann) Gieseke. Jackie was born on March 28, 1926 in Dayton, KY. She grew up in Dayton and Erlanger, KY. She attended the University of Cincinnati. After she married James W. Cook, they moved to Mariemont, OH. Two years after moving to Cincinnati, her husband James was diagnosed with cancer and suffered an untimely death. Jackie was preceded in death by three sisters, Bernice Sullender, Katherine Gieseke, and Laura Bradford, 2 brothers, Robert Gieseke, and Edward Gieseke. For years Jackie worked in testing at P & G. The family would like to thank Ed Harig, her longtime, special friend for all the years of entertainment and joy he brought to her life; the nurses, doctors, and aides at U.C. Hospital for their wonderful care of Jackie; the for providing such marvelous care and comfort during Jackie's last days. Visitation for Jackie will be held at Neidhard-Young Funeral Home, 7401 Hamilton Avenue, Mt. Healthy on February 11, 2017 from 11:00am until the time of the funeral service at 12, Noon. Services will be officiated by Reverend Jonathan Kollmann of Mt. Healthy United Methodist Church.
