Jack Arthur LargeSevierville, TNJack Arthur Large, age 77 of Sevierville, went to be with his Lord and Savior in the early morning of Sunday, May 14, 2017. He was born on January 14, 1940 in the Upper Middle Creek community of Sevier County to William Herman Large and Mae Newman Large. He attended school at Middle Creek School and Pittman Center School. On August 8, 1962 he married his wife of 55 years, Mary Sue Valentine. Together they had 3 sons, Michael, Jimmy, and Jeffrey. Jack served his country honorably in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam conflict for 3 years with the rank of SSgt. Jack was employed at ALCOA in Alcoa, Tennessee for nearly 30 years when he retired. Since his retirement, Jack and Sue enjoyed traveling to many places across the country, including Hawaii and out west to the Rocky Mountain states. Their favorite trips seemed to be close to home over the mountain to North Carolina where they went too many times to count. Jack was a dedicated and lifetime member of Williamsburg Baptist Church. Jack was there to serve the Lord anytime the doors where open. Jack loved his children and grandchildren very dearly and enjoyed visiting with them, especially on big occasions when they were all together for barbeques and holidays.He was preceded in death by his father, William Herman Large; mother, Mae Newman Large; brother-in-law, Walter "(Bud) Hurst; nephews, Bobby Suttles and Shana Large.Survivors: Wife: Mary Sue Large;Children: Michael Ray Large and wife Tena, Jimmy Dale Large and wife Melissa, and Jeffrey Wayne Large and wife Tonya;Grandchildren: Aaron Large, Amber Large, Kearstyn Large, Colton Large, Kylee Large, Zachary Large, Cooper Large, Cassie Blevins, Samantha Lay, and Hunter Flatford;Great Grandchildren: Coyokan Large, Amelia Blevins, Eli Lay, Bentley Lay, Anderson Lay, and Sophey Cloonan;Special friends: Jimmy and Deb Bolden (his Hardees morning friends), Dasha Wick of Melbourne Australia, and Cambrynn Simpson, his adopted granddaughter. Funeral service 7 PM Wednesday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Chuck Simpson and Rev. Mike Beck officiating. Interment 11 AM Thursday in Pigeon Forge Baptist Cemetery on Upper Middle Creek Road across from the golf course.
