Jack A. Steinert, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born on July 31, 1932 in Oshkosh the son of the late John and Mildred (Drebus) Steinert. He graduated from Oshkosh High School and later joined the
Army proudly serving our country in the
Korean War. He was united in marriage to Audrey Wenrich on February 16, 1957 at Peace Lutheran in Oshkosh. Their marriage was blessed with two children. Jack worked for Wisconsin Public Service as a Gas Streetman for 33 years. He was a member at Emmanuel United Church of Christ and was an active usher, church counsel and enjoyed playing on the church dart league. Jack was an avid outdoorsman all year long. He loved to trout fish and hunt. Jack enjoyed watching the Packers, the Badgers, LA Dodgers and bowling. He was a woodworker, a jokester, storyteller, trivia fanatic and an all around family man. Jack is survived by his wife, Audrey of 59 years, one son, Jeff (Linda) Steinert of Oshkosh, one daughter, Debbie (Jim) Bartel of Omro, four grandchildren: Christopher and Brittany Steinert, Jon (Cara) Bartel and Matt Bartel; three great-grandchildren: Alex, Ryder and Annalee; and one brother, Michael Steinert of Newald. He is further survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Danny.Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 25, 2016 at Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 1306 Michigan St, with Rev. Andi Wolf officiating. Friends and family may visit at the church from 9:00 am until the time of service. Interment will take place at Lake View Memorial Park, Oshkosh. The family would like to thank the staff at Mercy Medical Center for all their care and support. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
