LEACH, Jeffrey Rohm Jr. Age 26, passed away on October 25th at his home in Austin, Texas. He was born on February 26, 1990 in Boston, Massachusetts to Jeffrey Leach Sr. and Cynthia Leach. He was the oldest of three siblings (Madeline, 24 and Daniel, 22). Jeffrey, who liked to be called Jeff, grew up in the Boston area and attended the Tenacre Country Day School, the Belmont Hill School and the Noble and Greenough School. Jeff went on to receive his Bachelors Degree at Georgetown University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a major in Economics and a minor in Business. He was admitted to the Georgetown Economics Honor Society for his outstanding academic accomplishments, and was a member of the Sig Ep fraternity. After college, Jeff worked as a consultant at Booze Allen in Washington, DC, and later as a Senior Analyst at United Health Care in Austin. He was very passionate about his work and loved his job. Throughout his childhood he loved playing sports, his favorite being ice hockey. During his early years, he played youth ice hockey and baseball, and later football in junior high and high school. Jeff was proud to be a member of the undefeated 2007 Nobles football team. He was an avid Boston Bruins and NE Patriots fan. Jeff loved being around his family, teammates, and his friends, who remember him for his sense of humor, intelligence and kindness. He was a genuine, good-hearted person who even as a child said that his perfect day included "playing street hockey in the neighborhood and spending time with my family". He will be dearly missed by those who were fortunate enough to have known him. Jeff lost his life after an eight year struggle with anorexia. As Jeff would have wanted, a private memorial service will be held for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the Jeff Leach Foundation Inc. to benefit males who are battling eating disorders. Checks can be mailed to: 22 Liberty Drive #3J, Boston, MA 02210.
