KASPARY JEAN V. Age 87, passed away peacefully from this life on Monday, October 31, 2016. She was born on January 8, 1929 in Glassport, PA. Daughter of late Joseph N. and Rose (Balena) Gattone. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, William C. Kaspary, Jr. and her sister, Phyllis (John) Germek. Jean graduated from Glassport High School in 1947. After graduation, she attended Duff's Business Institute. Jean loved to keep busy and began working at age 13 in a fruit store in her hometown. She had several jobs during and after high school. Jean was eventually employed by US Steel, Irvin Works as a secretary. She married in 1952, and left her position in 1954 to become a loving homemaker to her husband and child. She was a longtime resident of West Mifflin and a member of Holy Spirit Parish. After the death of her husband, Jean moved to Baldwin and continued her worship at Nativity. Jean was a devout Catholic and participated in services wherever she lived. Jean enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, knitting and playing bingo. She was both an avid Pittsburgh Pirate fan and an enthusiastic Steelers football fan. She never missed watching a game. More recently, Jean resided at Arrowood at Southwestern, where she met many new friends, and enjoyed events and activities. Eventually, she moved in to long term care at Baldwin Health Center where she spent her final days. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (David) Rojohn; grandson, Justin (Amber) Fite; and one great-grandson, Jackson Billy Fite. She is also survived by her sister, Rose Marie (Frank) Ross, nieces and nephews. In accordance with Jean's wishes, there will be no visitation.
