DELAWARE — Jack T. "Casey" Seitter, 80, of Delaware, passed away at home Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016, following a five-month illness.
He was born on May 16, 1936, in Marion to the late Homer and Anna L. (Colmer) Seitter. After graduating from Cardington High School in 1955 he became a machine operator. Jack worked a number of years for Sunray Stove and retired in 1996 from Nippert Corporation in Delaware.
Casey enjoyed a passion for collecting, trading, and swapping anything to make a dollar. He knew how to wheel and deal. He loved cars, especially his 1937 Chevy and 1985 Corvette, collecting Hot Wheels, and all types of toys and antique tractors. He was a member of the Morrow County Antique Tractor Association, Delaware County and Richwood Antique Farm Machinery Association.
Always on the go, he enjoyed family cookouts and treasured time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed afternoon drives, Florida trips to the Ft. Meade Flea Market, or sitting on his front porch watching life and traffic go bye. He will long be remembered for by his own favorite phrase; "That's the way it goes."
He is survived by his beloved wife and childhood sweetheart of 61 years, Shirley Ann (Waddell); sons, William (Rebecca) Seitter, Martin (Doris) Seitter, all of Delaware; son-in-law, Rocky Lawrence of Powell; 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Russell Seitter of Mt. Vernon.
He was also preceded in death by sons, Charles "Boss" in 2003, Alvin in 2010; daughter, Irene Lawrence in 2007; sisters, Edna Boggs, Esther Congrove, and Hazel Anthony.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive (formerly 1510 W. William St.), Delaware, where services will follow noon on Saturday. Burial will follow in Cheshire Cemetery.
