Ivan David Montoya was born on Sept. 28, 1974 to David and Diane Montoya. He passed on to eternal rest on Aug. 4, 2015 in Bastrop, Texas due to a lifelong illness. He is preceded in death by his father: David Montoya; brother: Sammy Montoya; paternal grandparents: Aurora and Ramon Montoya; and maternal grandparents: Molly and Margarito Lucero. He is survived by his mother: Diane Montoya and companion, Damian Lujan; sister: Grace Montoya and her two children, Molly and Moses Montoya; sister: Dianne "Mona" Roybal and husband, Ricky, and their son, Sammy Roybal; great-aunt and godmother: Josie Duran; paternal uncles and aunts: Anastacio Montoya and Bree, Joe Montoya and Bethal, Dan Montoya, William Montoya and wife, Joyce Montoya, and aunt, Gloria Martinez; maternal uncles and aunts: Margaret Lucero, Ellen Lucero, Yolanda Soltero and husband, Manuel, Albert Lucero, Ramon Lucero, Leonard Lucero and wife, Lorraine, numerous cousins and friends. Ivan was a certified nurse assistant. He worked for LVMC, CDD, Vida Encantada, Professional Home Health, Direct Home Health, Maestas Nursing Home and until his passing the Blue Bonnet Home Health agency and Celebration House Rehabilitation in Bastrop, Texas. He was a great brother, uncle and son. He was "Mother's Little Helper." Funeral Mass will be held at 9 a.m. today (Friday) at Our Lady Of Sorrows Church. Reception to follow at the VFW.
