Irene Mercado Longoria was born on October 26, 1937 in Elsa, Texas to Manuel and Plasida Mercado. She passed on November 30, 2016 at the age of 79. She is preceded in death by her husband, Guadalupe Longoria and her son Manuel Longoria. She is survived by her other son, Lus Longoria; daughter's, Irene Melody Zuniga, Linda Garcia, Frances Ceballos, Plasida Longoria, and Stella Gurrola. She also had 4 brothers and 4 sisters, 19 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. She was a homemaker and worked. Irene was also a volunteer at El Granito Foundation for various years. She will be missed by everybody.A viewing will be held at Myers Chapel on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Rosary will be held at Myers Chapel on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 6:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anne's Church on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at 11:00 AM.
