Inez Palmer FitzjarraldJuly 9, 1917 - April 17, 2014Inez Sophia Rasmussen Palmer Fitzjarrald, 96, passed away at Quail Ridge early Thursday, April 17, 2014.Inez was born on July 9, 1917, at Preston, Idaho to James Peter and Sarah Jensen Rasmussen, one of ten children.Inez married Melvin Palmer on July 1, 1936 in the Logan LDS Temple. To this union two children were born, Karen (Bob) Wardle and Paul (RaNae) Palmer. Melvin and Inez lived in Preston, Salt Lake City and Pocatello. Inez and Melvin enjoyed dancing, camping and were member of the Moose Lodge. Melvin died in a hunting accident in 1958. In 1972 Inez married Jim Fitzjarrald. They enjoyed wintering in Arizona, bowling, golfing and traveling the U.S. with their trailer. Jim passed away in 1982.Inez worked as a waitress at Wintergreens in the 50's and for many years as a custodian in the girls dorms at ISU. Always a hard worker, she maintained a spotless house and yard. She raised beautiful roses, was an excellent cook and did beautiful hand work. Inez took great pride in her appearance, and the most important thing was her weekly hair appointments.Inez was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, brothers, Floyd, Dewey, Harvey, and Glen, sisters Eveleen, Marie and Verdell. She is survived by her daughter Karen (Bob) Wardle, son Paul (RaNae) Palmer and four grandchildren, Barry (Janet) Wardle, Bobby (Torri) Wardle, Kathy (Randy) Packham and Todd Palmer. She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren and stepsons Launny (Betty) Fitzjarrald of Bath, Maine and Floyd (Betty) Madsen of Orting, Washington, and sisters, Karma Bersee of Bowling Green, Ohio and Amy Rasmussen of Salt Lake City.Funeral services for Inez will be at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Road. A viewing will be held from 12-12:45 pm prior to the services. The interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
