Hunter Banry was born on December 6, 1995 to Doug and Lisa Banry (Haddock) in McMinnville, OR joining his big sister, Jessica, who was 6 and brother, Clayton, who was 22 months. The two boys were inseparable from that day on.

Hunter grew up in the McMinnville School District.  All his buddies and fun activities were in "Mac" (as it's affectionately called by locals). When Hunter was 12 his dad remarried so he gained a step-mom, Amanda, an older brother, Tristan, who was 15 and a younger brother, Gabe, who was 7.

Hunter graduated from McMinnville High School in 2014. He had most recently been employed at Knife River in Tualatin, OR, but most of his working career was at New Horizon LLC, owned by Hunter's Uncle, Scott, where he was a jack of all trades and was even learning to do lineman work.

Hunter loved spending time outdoors, fishing, hunting, target shooting, riding dirt bikes and driving the Meadow Lake area in McMinnville. He would spend hours in the mountain driving around. Hunter was an amazing shot with both his rifle and a compound bow - he once split an arrow at a hundred yards. Hunter loved animals so much that even though he was allergic to them he just couldn't stay away. He would break out in hives every time, yet that never stoped him.

Hunter had a smile that would melt your heart and a sense of humor that will be missed greatly. He was patient and loving and had a knack for training dogs. One time his dad bragged to Hunter that he had trained the poodle that lived with him to sit, and Hunter immediately texted back that he had trained his Mom's poodle to drive. We have poodles at both homes because of Hunter. And both dogs will sorely miss him.

Hunter liked country music, Romeo shoes, and Carhartt clothes. When you saw Hunter, he was always wearing a ball cap, Carhartt pants, Romeo shoes, a long sleeved shirt and had a can of chew in his pocket.

Hunter had a great understanding of people and reasoning. Although he preferred immediate family or a very small groups of close friends, he understood people. Hunter was very quiet, kind and brave. He was loved by many and his precious smile is going to be deeply missed by his friends and family.

He is survived by his mom, Lisa Haddock, dad and step-mom, Doug and Amanda Banry, along with his siblings, Jessica Norwood (Ricky Norwood), Tristan Gunvaldson, Clayton Banry and Gabriel Gunvaldson. Hunter also leaves to cherish his memory many aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, and a niece and nephew.

He was preceded in death by his grandpa, Warren Haddock, whom Hunter was very close to. We are all sure Grandpa is giving Hunter a talking to right now followed by a hug, and that they are fishing together in Heaven. Knowing Hunter is with Grandpa, we are praying there is no wood to be chopped in Heaven because he will put Hunter to work by Grandpa and he won't like it!
