Shadid, Helen Virginia (Chisholm) left us on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016 in Dallas, TX. Virginia was born on June 3, 1925 in Wichita. She was a long time Wichita resident, a graduate of East HS and WSU, and retired Haysville JH teacher. George and Virginia were very active in Wichita with the Optomist Club and traveled extensively with their many friends. George passed away in 1999. In 2005, Virginia moved to Dallas to be closer to her children. She had wonderful times these last few years on trips, cruises, and concerts. She was lovingly cared for by Denise and Yolanda, who Virginia kept very busy with movies, cooking, sewing, and shopping. Virginia also visited her son, Mike in Oregon, where they did many fun things together. Virginia had a very full life and will be missed very much. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, George W. Shadid; parents, Kenneth H. and Helen Chisholm; and brother, Robert K. Chisholm. Survivors include: children, Mike Forrer and wife, Barbara, Portland, OR, Patricia Forrer Seizer, Frisco, TX, Bobbi Forrer Matlock, Dallas, TX, Mark Forrer and wife, Julie, Plano, TX, Sydney Shadid, Australia, Marcie Shadid and husband, Mike Folsom, Norman, OK, Sheila Shadid and husband, Cary Harris; grandchildren, Kim Forrer, Chris Forrer, Steven Forrer and wife, Carrie, Matthew Folsom, Gracie Forrer, Sophie Forrer, and Chloe Forrer, Cara Martin, Todd Martin; great-grandchildren, Lilly, Preston, and Eloise Forrer; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral service was held Saturday, October 1, at Hillside Funeral Home - West, 2929 W. 13th St. N. Graveside service was held at Old Mission Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with the Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside, Wichita, KS 67209.
