Helen Louise Muncey StokesMemphis, TNHelen Louise Muncey Stokes, known to all as Louise, died peacefully on Monday, May 1, 2017 in Memphis, TN at the age of 91.Mrs. Stokes is survived by her daughter Susan Reuther of Knoxville; her son and daughter-in-law, Andrew & Joanie Taylor, of Memphis, TN; seven grandchildren, Andrew Elmore & Christopher Reuther of Knoxville, Marshall & Anne Taylor of Nashville, TN, Ryan Taylor of Smyrna, GA, KK & Cody Atkinson of Memphis, TN; five, great-grandchildren, Caleb, Betsy, Robert H., Ty and Walter. Mrs. Stokes was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, William A. Stokes, her mother and father, three brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Stokes loved her family and is reunited with them in heaven at this time.Mrs. Stokes was born on July 24, 1925 on Lone Mountain, TN to William L. & Frona Lay Muncey. She was the fourth of six children that grew up on the family farm. She graduated from Gibbs High School as the valedictorian of the class of 1944. She dedicated her life to motherhood and family - wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother were her titles. She was great in all her roles.Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 5, 2017 at the Rose Mortuary, Mann Heritage Chapel, 6200 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919. The family will hold a private graveside service Friday afternoon.
