Ranney Haslett L. Ranney, age 92, formerly of West Jefferson, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2016. He was born on April 5, 1924 to the late Daniel W. and Allie (Johnson) Ranney. He was a graduate of West High School and worked as President and CEO of his family business, DW Ranney and Sons. Haslett was a proud veteran of WWII where he served in the US Navy. He was active in the West Jefferson American Legion Post #201. Lifetime member of the Order of Odd Fellows Rainbow Lodge #327. Haslett was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Columbus and Hickory Hills Golf Course. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Emma L. "Emmie" Ranney, son Jack Ranney and brothers Charles and Harry Ranney. He is survived by his children, Donald (Pam) Ranney, Dave (Sue) Ranney; and Roxanne (Paul) Lambert; daughter-in-law, Joy Ranney; sister, Rhonda Seufer; sister-in-law, Fran Alder; nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the HOPE & HEART FUNERAL HOME by SCHOEDINGER, 3030 West Broad St., Columbus, Ohio, where funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2016 with Pastor John Hood officiating.
