Harvey Sorenson Racine – Harvey Sorenson, age 93, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2014 at Killarney Court in Sturtevant. Harvey was born on December 4, 1920 to David and Viola Sorenson in Tomah, Wisconsin. Harvey lived in Racine for most of his life, where he married Mabelle Anderson on February 26, 1944. Harvey was a produce farmer, and was in partnership with two of his brothers, Norman and Willard. The business was named Sorenson Brothers Produce. The brothers all worked together until retirement. Harvey liked to bowl, and was in a league at Elmwood Plaza. He also enjoyed playing cards with his wife and friends. Harvey enjoyed spending time with two special neighbors. He also loved going deer hunting with his son, and fishing with his son-in-law on the Mississippi River. Harvey is survived by two daughters, Sandra (Rick) Shidell of Racine, Lu-Ann Grant of Milwaukee, one son, Brian (Lisa) Sorenson of Racine and one son-in-law, Mike Fox. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson! Harvey was preceded in death by his parents; David and Viola, his wife, Mabelle, his daughter, Gail (nee: Sorenson) Fox of Bloomington; three sisters, four brothers, and two grandsons. There will be a Funeral Service for Harvey on Friday, March 28, 2014 at Wilson Funeral Home. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 9:30 am until the time of the service at 10:30 am. Pastor Rich Doering will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.
