Harry W. Hernly, 90Ossian - Harry W. Hernly, age 90, of Ossian and formerly of Winchester, went to be reunited with his wife, Eloise, who he was married to for 62 years, on Sunday, March 19, 2017.He was born on January 4, 1927 in Randolph County to Everett Hernly and Leah (Dick) Haber. He attended Winchester High School until his junior year when he was drafted into the Army during World War II. He met his wife while they both worked at Dr. Brenners. Harry retired from working at Morten school as it's custodian after 36 years of service. His favorite part of the job was being around the kids. He loved going to all the Winchester High School sporting events and playing golf.  He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winchester. He will be remembered most as a hardworking and loving husband, father and grandfather. Thanks be to God for the peace he has now granted Harry. He had lived at the Ossian Health and Rehab Center for the last 4½ years. Many thanks to everyone who had cared for him during this time.Survivors include 4 sons, Alan (Rosie) Hernly of Fort Wayne, Ronnie (Norma) Hernly of Charleston, SC, Randy (Shari) Hernly of Clarksburg, WV and Stan (Joni) Lawrence, KS; 12 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and a brother, Vernon "Buck" (Nancy) of Bowling Green, KY.He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Eloise May (Burgess) Hernly.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Walker Funeral Home in Winchester with Pastor David Cassity officiating.  Burial will follow in Fountain Park Cemetery.Friends and relatives may call from 5-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home and also one hour prior to services on Saturday.Memorials can be made to the .
