Harry "Dennis" Miller, age 63, of Monterey, NY passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving wife, family, and friends. Dennis was born on May 18, 1953 in Blue Ball, Pennsylvania. He is the son of the late Tom and Pauline (Knapp) Miller. He married Christine Scranton on June 7, 2003 in Monterey, New York. Dennis grew up in Buffalo, NY and later relocated to the southern tier and graduated from the Dundee School District. He served in the
Army from 1976 to 1978 as a personal security specialist to a high ranking military general. After serving in the military Dennis worked in sales for various businesses and companies. Most recently he and his wife owned and operated Taylor Made Signs and Graphics of Monterey, NY.Dennis will be remembered as a caring individual with a great sense of humor. He was very active in the Monterey Fire Department, recently serving as President. In addition, Dennis was a pet lover, and loved his wife, family, and friends deeply. Dennis was elated to live to see Donald J. Trump elected as President of the United States.He is survived by his wife: Christine (Scranton) Miller; sons: Thomas (Heather) Carmell-Taylor of Painted Post, NY; Brian (Desiree) McDonald of Texas; grandchildren: Lilly, Locklynn and Kacey McDonald and Julia Carmell-Taylor; and his loving canine companion, Tuffy.In addition to his parents, Dennis is predeceased by his two brothers.In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Monterey Volunteer Fire Department, 1465 South Street, Beaver Dams, New York, 14812.Services will take place at the convenience of the family.
