Harriet Theune, 96, of Oostburg passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Pine Haven Christian Home of Oostburg. Harriet was born on December 21, 1919 in Cedar grove, the daughter of Robert and Jennie (Meyer) Koeppe. Harriet graduated from Cedar Grove Academy. On November 3, 1939 she married Lloyd Theune in Cedar Grove, he preceded her in death in 1984. Harriet was a busy and dedicated homemaker while raising her five boys. She was a charter member of Bethel Orthodox Presbyterian Church of Oostburg where she was active in various church committees. She enjoyed listening to gospel music and loved to read and study the Bible. Harriet always enjoyed spending time with her family. Harriet is survived by five sons; Paul (Linda) Theune of Oostburg, Philip (Kathy) Theune of Sheboygan, Mark (Joan) Theune of Brookefield, David (Wendy) Theune of Belgium, Daniel (Brenda)of Lookout Mountain,TN; 16 grandchildren, Donald (Vena) Theune, Scott (Geralyn) Theune, Shawn Theune, Steve (Sue) Theune, Sue (Wayne) Dykstra, Lori (Jeff) Summerhays, Lois (Steven) Gerristsma, David (Julie) Theune, Christopher (Jennifer) Theune, Brian Theune, Amanda (Nate) Ehlert, Danielle (David) Meerdink, Ben (Jessica) Theune, Mike (Leigh Ann) Theune, Katie Theune, and Peter Theune; and 33 great-grand children. Harriet is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Ethelyn, brother, Oliver, grandchildren, Jacqueline "Kelly" Scarbeau, Philip Lee II, Sheri, and Connie Sue Theune; two infant great-great granddaughters Tegan Mae and Laurel Anne. A funeral service to celebrate Harriet's life will be held on Saturday November 19, 2016 at 1:30pm at Bethel Orthodox Presbyterian Church of Oostburg with Rev. John Tinsley officiating. A private family burial will take place at Oostburg Cemetery following the service. Relatives and friends may greet the family at Bethel OPC on Saturday November 19, 2016 from 12pm until the time of service at 1:30pm.In lieu of flowers a memorial fund to Oostburg Christian School is being established in Harriet's name.
