Harold William Roessler Sr.ZANESVILLE: Harold William Roessler Sr., 88 of Zanesville died peacefully with his loving family at his side at 7:50 PM Wednesday, July 08, 2015 at the Brookdale Senior Living. He was born on April 29, 1927 in Zanesville, Ohio the son of Chris W. Roessler and Mary Ethel (Wagner) Roessler. Harold was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Army during
WWII and retired from the Ohio State Patrol as a License Examiner. Harold was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus, and a past Grand Master. He volunteered for the Charity Newsies, and made many trips volunteering on The Lorena. He was an enthusiastic fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes having attended the
Ohio State University. For many years he remained active in the T.B.D.B.I.T.L Alumni Band, in which he played saxophone.He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou (Pfeifer) Roessler, whom he married April 21, 1951; daughters, Karen (Larry) Young of Zanesville, Christine (Robert) Rowe of Zanesville, Janet (Russ) Powers of Caldwell, Diane (Ralph) Milligan of Zanesville, and Ragine (James) Butler of Zanesville; sons, Harold Roessler, Jr. of Zanesville, and Michael (Jane) Roessler of Zanesville; son-in-law Kevin Baker of Nashport; grandchildren, Abbie (Steve) Frase, Keelie (Chuck) Goldsmith, Joey Baker, Adam Young, Michelle Merry, Trisha (Anthony) Hartge, Megan (Matt) Totton, Deven and Aaron Powers, Daniel and Jonathan Milligan, Zac (Ali) Roessler, Erica, Megan, Kaylin, and Kristin Roessler, Katie (John) Payne, Kylie Johnson, Mallory Swope, Rachella Roessler, and Lucretia Smith, Jamell and Victor Butler; great-grandchildren Justin, Elle, and Alex Frase, Joey, Logan, and Landon Goldsmith, Joseph II, Anton, Kameron, Quinten, and Konner Baker, Bayleigh and Payton Hartge, and Addalynn Roessler, Aniyah, Kyeriona, and Jamell Butler Jr, Jerimiah, Tyreese, and Alexionna Butler.Harold was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Ellen Baker, a grandson, Joshua McConnell, and a brother, Chris H. Roessler.Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8pm with Christian Vigil at 7:30pm on Friday, July 10, 2015 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the St. Nicholas Catholic Church with Fr. Martin Ralko as celebrant. Burial with Military honors will conclude at the Mt.
