Harold "Lee" PhelpsHarold "Lee" Phelps, 76, of Lafayette passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Franciscan St. Elizabeth East.Lee was born on April 18, 1941 in Science Hill, KY to the late Bernard and Stella Garrett Phelps. Lee graduated from Sheldon Illinois High School and the joined the U.S. Army where he served his country for 10 years.On October 7, 1983, Lee was married to Donna Partlow in Lafayette.Lee worked at ALCOA for 24 years, retiring in 2002. Prior to that he worked construction and was a carpenter.He was a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion Post 11. Lee loved to travel with his wife in their motor home, he enjoyed carpentry and western movies. Lee would help anyone in the neighborhood.Surviving is his wife, Donna Phelps of Lafayette and his sister, Grace (Thomas) Dixon of Oxford.He is preceded in death by his son, Harold Jr. and his sister, Ila Hayden.A private graveside service will take place at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
