Harold G. Phillips, 77Muncie - Harold G. Phillips, 77, passed away early Wednesday evening, February 22, 2017, at the Indiana University Blackford County Hospital following a brief illness. He was born on March 27, 1939, in Stearns, Kentucky, the son of Marcus and Nora (Clark) Phillips.Mr. Harold married the love of his life, Joyce (Cox) Phillips on December 5, 1964, and she preceded him, in death on November 7, 2008. Mr. Phillips had worked for the Muncie City Street Department for approximately 15 years prior to his retirement in 2002. In 1961 He was inducted into the U.S. Army serving honorably and later was discharged as a Specialist 5th grade in 1964. Harold enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing card games.Survivors include one daughter, Vickie Reed (husband-Ric),Parker City ; two sons, Randy Phillips, Muncie and Christopher Phillips (wife-Erin), Yorktown ; fourteen grandchildren; eleven great- grandchildren; three brothers, Ray Phillips (wife-Freda), Stearns, Kentucky, Larry Phillips, Selma and Boyd Phillips, New Jersey; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Phillips, Muncie; several nieces and nephews.Besides his wife of 44 years, Joyce, he is preceded in death by his parents; Four brothers, Boyce, Hubert, Jimmy and Gurstel Phillips.Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 27, 2017, 1:00 p.m. At Parson Mortuary with Pastors Rick Cox and Wayne Inman officiating. Burial will follow at the Elm Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery.
