Harold F. EatonNaples, FLHarold Frederick Eaton of Naples, Florida, formerly of Pleasantville, NY, died peacefully on Saturday, October 14, 2017, in Naples. Hal, as he was known, was born on February 2, 1931 in McConnelsville, Ohio, the son of Harold and Esther (Swanson) Eaton. The youngest of three children, he was predeceased by sister Helen (Culbertson) and brother Jack. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary Louise (Warwick) Eaton, daughter, Lynn Jackson, of Weston, CT, son, Bob (Lori) of Birmingham, MI and two grandchildren, Kyle and Caroline.After graduating in 1950 from Ithaca (NY) High School, Hal earned his college degree in 1954 from Cornell University and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutentant with the United States Army, serving in the 206th Signal Company. Hal and Mary-Lou were married on June 26,1954 in Greenwich, Connecticut and lived in a various parts of the country before settling in Pleasantville, where Hal worked for many years in the White Plains public schools, serving as the audio-visual technical coordinator. After retirement, Hal and Mary-Lou moved to North Naples, where Hal served as president of the Wiggins Lakes and Preserve Association.Hal enjoyed many activities and hobbies during his wonderful life, and his bucket list included motorcycling, boating and flying. He built a houseboat, obtained a pilot's license and owned a small airplane, in which he loved to fly family members and friends to various destinations throughout the U.S. Hal was a long-time member of the Presbyterian church in Pleasantville, serving in numerous teaching and ushering positions. Hal and Mary-Lou were also long-time members of Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church in Naples, where Hal served as an usher.A Memorial Service and Celebration of Hal's life will be held on October 27, 2017 at 1:00 PM at The Arlington Assisted Living facility, 7900 Arlington Circle, Naples, FL followed by a private inurnment ceremony at the Frank T. Mohr Jr. Memorial Garden at Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church.
