H. Jean (Mohney) Williams, 78, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Monday, Feb. 6, 2017, at Laurelbrooke Landing Personal Care Home in Brookville.Mrs. Williams was born on Aug. 4, 1938, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Amon F. and Flora Bell (Means) Mohney.On Oct. 20, 1956, she married William J. Williams, who survives.Jean was a graduate of the Punxsutawney High School Class of 1956. Following graduation, she became employed by Cameron-Sylvania in Reynoldsville. Later, Jean was hired and served as a longtime library assistant at the Punxsutawney Memorial Library. Prior to her illness, she attended the First United Methodist Church of Punxsutawney. She loved to read, play cards, listen to country and Christian music and spend time with her family and friends.In addition to her husband, Jean is survived by many nieces and nephews.Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by three brothers, Vern Mohney, Blake Mohney and Max Mohney; and three sisters, Thelma Gumbert, Sarabelle Brennan and Laura Ann Adams.Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, at the Deeley Funeral Home in Punxsutawney, where a memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., with the Rev.
