PLEASANT PRAIRIE - J.R. Johnson, 63, of Kenosha passed away on Thursday February 4, 2016 at UHS-St. Catherine’s surrounded by his loving family. J.R. was born on May 24, 1952 in Dyess, AR, the son of the late Gurry & Stella (Dixon) Johnson Sr. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha, graduating from Tremper H.S. He married Lenay Grimmer on August 8, 2008 in Kenosha. He was employed as a machinist at Jacobson Textron in Racine for many years. His hobbies included singing karaoke, loved Elvis, loved riding his Harley Davidson, cheering for the Packers, bowling, golfing, watching old westerns, and most of all spending time with his family & friends, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Lenay Johnson of Pleasant Prairie; children, Tom (Jen) Johnson of Kenosha, Amy (Chuck) Tilander of Eldora, IA, Danny Johnson of Pleasant Prairie, Nick (Taylor) Johnson of Minot Air Force Base, N.D., Kelly (Oscar) Santos of Kenosha, Kirk (Cathy) Hauptmann of Pleasant Prairie; a brother, Jim (Jackie) Johnson of Seguin, TX; a sister, Ann Bailey of Kenosha; 17 + 1 on the way grandchildren; and a great grandson. J.R. was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas, and sister, Margaret Imagene Hayes.
