Smith, Gregory W. MIDDLETON-Gregory Woodford Smith of Milwaukee passed away on Friday, September 1, 2017, at Aurora St. Lukes Hospital in Milwaukee. He was born on December 11, 1954, in Lincoln, Nebraska, the son of William "Wood" and Mary Lou Smith. He married Sandra (Witkowski Eater) December 31st, 2016 in Milwaukee. Gregg was a graduate of La Crosse Central High School and UW-Lacrosse. Professionally he was a photographer; was a sales representative in the photography and stationary industries; and worked in fund development for numerous not for profit organizations. Gregg enjoyed photography, travelling, and spending time with family. Gregg was a believer in progressive government reform, immigration rights, and fought against dishonesty and the abuse of power. Gregg is survived by three sisters, Amanda (Tom) Hale in Missoula, Montana; Stacey (Rodney) Mitchell in Anchorage, Alaska; Paula (Dennis) Marcou in La Crosse, Wisconsin; and two brothers Timothy in Tustin, California; and Jason and his partner Tom Vallach in Palm Desert, California. Gregg had three children, Carla in Westbend, Wisconsin; Adam (Meghan) in Jasper, Indiana; and Marilu in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Gregg had five grandchildren: Noah, Lainey, Corbin, Owen, and Dawson. Gregg had two nephews and three nieces. Graveside services will be held Sunday, September 10, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Natural Path Sanctuary, 2299 Spring Rose Road, Verona, WI 53593.
