Grace L. (Simon) Van HoosePORT CLINTON: Grace L. (Simon) Van Hoose, 85, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at her residence. She was born on September 7, 1931 in Gypsum, Ohio, the daughter of the late Elder and Lucille Simon. She married Curtice Van Hoose on June 11, 1949 and he preceded her in death on March 12, 2014.Grace was a homemaker and could often be seen babysitting the children in the neighborhood. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her hobbies included playing cards, solving puzzles, and fishing. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Port Clinton; as well as an auxiliary member of the Port Clinton VFW Post 2480; Port Clinton Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 1610; and of the Port Clinton Eagles Lodge Aerie 2295. Survivors include her children, Denise (Rob Fleenor) Ambrozy, Karen Garza, and Keith (Mary) Van Hoose, all of Port Clinton; seventeen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Julie Riefsnyder; her son-in-law, Art Garza; and her sister, Alana Labine.Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 27, 2016 from 6-8pm at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton, Ohio. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 28, 2016 at 11am at the funeral home, with her son, Reverend Keith Van Hoose, officiating.
