Gloria T. Clark, 84, of Ivoryton, CT, peacefully passed away on November 10, 2016. Gloria was born on September 27, 1932 in New Britain, CT to Etta (Elton) and Ernest Theberge. She grew up in Kensington, the eldest of three girls. While working at New Britain Machine, she met and married her husband, Bruce Clark. They moved to Ivoryton, CT where their three children grew up. Gloria joined the work force as a single mother and worked for Safeway in Middletown, Austin Electronics in Deep River and ending her employ of many years at Whelen Engineering in Chester. Gloria was strong and uplifting, supportive and a joy to have around; she was funny, sometimes corny, but we loved that most, as did so many. She loved her kitties and had a "green thumb" for her numerous house plants; she enjoyed reading, doing her crossword puzzles and baking cookies for the Holidays. She was a caring, kind and giving soul, wanting to help wherever and whenever she could. She will, most definitely, be missed by many, as she was so loved. Gloria was predeceased by her sister, Joan Eveslage and leaves behind a sister, Annette and her husband, Robert Galante of Kensington, CT; her children, Kathryn and her husband, Patrick Lamothe of St. Albans, VT; Diana and her husband, Greg Schimetschek of East Haddam, CT; Stuart Clark of Ivoryton, CT; her grandson, Dean and his wife, Kristin Schimetschek of East Haddam, CT; her step-grandchildren, Marcijo and her husband, James Lombard of Winooski, VT, and Aaron Lamothe and his significant other, Kathy White of East Fairfield, VT; her nephew, Brian Galante of Cheshire, CT; her special, long-time friend, Peggy Perrin of Ivoryton, CT; and many special friends and neighbors, all of whom will dearly miss her. Visitation will be held at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street, Centerbrook, CT on Monday, November 14, 2016 from 5:00 PM. to 7:00 PM. Burial will be private.
