McAllen - MISSION - Gloria Garza Hidalgo, 57, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 30, 2016, at the Comfort House in McAllen. Gloria was born on October 30,1959, in McAllen, graduated from Mission High School in 1978 and lived in Mission her entire life. She is preceded in death by her parents Leopoldo Sr. and Benita L. Garza and her sister-in-law, Yesenia Garza. She is survived by her loving husband Joe Louis Hidalgo, her son Marco Ivan Barrera, and her siblings, Leopoldo Jr. (Elizabeth) Garza, Benita (Noe) Hernandez, Armando "Mando" Garza, and Esteban "Steve" Garza. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins as well as her nieces and nephews who loved her like a mother.Gloria was a long-time employee of Magic Valley Cooperative and earlier in her life was employed by several financial institutions. Gloria was admired by her friends and colleagues for her dedication, commitment, and work ethic. She will be greatly missed by her family, her colleagues and her numerous. friends. Her uplifting humor, her warm and loving smile and our memories of her will live in our hearts forever.The family would like to express a special thank you to the Comfort House in McAllen, The Hospice Compassionate Care Services in Mission, and her dear friend Dolores "Loli" Garza for their devoted care and comfort during Gloria's final days.Pallbearers will be Marco Ivan Barrera, Leopoldo Garza Jr., Armando Garza, Esteban Garza, Noe Hernandez, David del Rio, and Nick Hernandez. Honorary pallbearers will be Bruno Cavazos Jr., Armando Garza Jr., Keith Hernandez, Noe Alexander Hernandez and John P. Calvillo. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2016, from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm at Ric Brown Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, November 3, 2016, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Cremation will follow the funeral mass.Funeral services are under the direction of Ric Brown Family Funeral Home of Mission.
