KENDALLVILLE — Glenn H. Bollinger, age 88, of Kendallville, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2016, at his residence surrounded by his loved ones. Mr. Bollinger was born on March 4, 1927, in Albion to the late Frank McCarty and Hattie McCarty. He attended Rome City High School and then joined the United States Navy where he served honorably. Glenn worked for ATL Truck line as a truck driver for 30 years before retiring. He was a lifetime member of both the Kendallville American Legion and the VFW. Glenn enjoyed golfing, bowling, painting and puzzles. He loved old cars and was proud of his 1967 Pink Cadillac. Survivors include two sons, Ronald L. and Darlene Bollinger of Kendallville and Bob and Judy Bollinger of Kendallville; four granddaughters, Tonya and Mark Dempsey of Stroh, Michelle and Glen Wright of Kendallville, Tabitha Blair of Kendallville and Tara Huff of Sandusky, Ohio; two grandsons, Mathew Bollinger of Kendallville and Tim and Jennifer Bollinger of Kendallville; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a brother, Uncle Clarence; and many nieces and nephews. Glenn was also preceded in death by daughter, Barb Bollinger; two sons, Benji Bollinger and Kenneth Bollinger; a granddaughter, Christy Bollinger; two brothers; and a sister. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016, from 4-7 p.m. at Hite Funeral Home, 403 S. Main St., Kendallville. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Officiating the funeral service will be Pastor Sam Weimer. Burial with military honors will take place at Merriam Christian Chapel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Parkview Hospice.
