Glen W. Kingma age 63, of DeMotte, Ind. passed away suddenly on Monday Feb. 13, 2012 at his residence. He was born on Oct. 13, 1948 in Rensselaer, Ind. to Samuel J. and Ann (Vander Molen) Kingma. Glen was a 1966 graduate of DeMotte High School and was in the US Navy. On Nov. 1, 1969 he married Patricia "Pat" Slager, who survives. He was owner/operator of Kingma Greenhouses in DeMotte since 1985. He was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church, where he was past Elder and Deacon. Glen was also a member of Indiana Flower Growers Association, NW Indiana Floriculture Association, and past FFA Kankakee Valley Advisory Board member. Glen enjoyed golfing, fishing, traveling and spending time with his family especially his grandkids. Glen is survived by his loving wife, Pat Kingma, DeMotte, Ind.;Sons, Brad Kingma, Greencastle, Ind. and Ryan (Barb) Kingma, Westfield, Ind.;Daughter, Dana Kingma, Willowbrook, Ill.;three grandchildren, Jordan, Trevor, and Jenna; Mother, Ann Kingma, DeMotte, Ind. He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel J. Kingma. Friends called on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012 from 2-8 p.m. at The First Christian Reformed Church, 1633 S. Halleck St., DeMotte, Ind. Funeral Services were held at The First Christian Reformed Church on Friday, Feb. 17, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Laryn Zoerhoff officiating. Interment at Holland Cemetery.
