Gerald "Skip" E. Morse, age 77, of Oscoda passed away on Jan. 21, 2016. He was born on June 22, 1938 in Pinconning to the late Gerald O. Morse and Shirley Cilley. Skip met his future wife, Loretta Ann Tolliver, when he was just six years old. They waited until they were both 18 and married on Dec. 22, 1956.Skip was a true American son and hero. He served in the United States Air Force for over 20 years including in country during the Vietnam War during which time he was wounded at Cameron Bay. Skip was a lifetime member of the VFW, American Legion, and DAV 40/8 and the Eagles. Skip enjoyed doing difficult crossword puzzles, watching TV and visiting with family and friends.Skip is survived by his loving wife, Loretta; his children, Gary (Kathy) Morse of Oscoda, Rick (Mary) Morse of Oscoda, Vickie Morse of Muskegon and Gale (Donna) Morse of St. Petersburg, Fla.; grandchildren, Renee Blackburn, David Nichols, Aaron (Marci) Wills, J.B. (Daniele) Wills, Rachael (John) Bruno, Patrick (Araceli) Wills, Michael (Candi) Morse, Christopher Morse, Joe (Ann) Morse, Sean Nichols, Shannon (Christopher) Scherden and Joe (Marcia) Reilly; great grandchildren, Alyssa, Aaron Jr., Eden, J.B. Jr., Emmie Jane, Cade, Cooper, Melanie, Joshua, Ben, Aiden, Logan, Crystal, Michael Jr., Jayon, Deacon, Claira, Kennedy, Jessica, Samantha, Alexis, James, Konnor and Kassidy; siblings, Herman Christopher and Karen Williams; brothers-in-law; George (Romaine) Tolliver, Charles (Linda) Tolliver, Bill Tolliver, Ken Tolliver and Clinton Tolliver; and his favorite sister-in-law, Virginia Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Michael and Lari; sisters, Sharon Mueller, Jeanie Williams and Sandy Williams; and his brother-in-law, Bert Lee Tolliver.A memorial celebration will take place on Saturday, Sept. 3 at 11 a.m. at the VFW in Oscoda.
