Georgie Maie Rhodes Crigler, 98, passed away on Friday, Feb. 5, 2016 at Spring Arbor Nursing Home.

An interment will be held at Hebron Lutheran Church in Madison, VA at a later date.

Georgie was born on July 7, 1917 to Rev. Clarence and Maie Rhodes. Growing up and all her life, Georgie was very active in church and many church organizations. She was a member at Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church and West Jefferson United Methodist Church. She loved playing golf, cooking, and was a master gardener. Family meant everything to Georgie and she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Georgie was a true southern lady in every sense of the word and she never met a stranger. She loved to entertain and could talk to anyone. Georgie was a wonderful seamstress and made clothes for her family. Georgie was truly the glue that held the family together.

Georgie is preceded in death by her husband Hugh Aylor Crigler, Jr. and brothers, Henry Oliver Rhodes and C. K. Rhodes, parents Rev. Clarence and Maie Rhodes. She is survived by her children Hugh Aylor Crigler, III and wife Janet Camp Crigler, Mary Marguerite Huneycutt and husband David Carl Huneycutt, grandchildren Daniel Huneycutt and wife Nikki, Drs. Dave and Sarah Huneycutt, along with 8 great grandchildren.
