Gomm, George O.George O. Gomm, age 92, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2017 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Seymour. He was born on November 25, 1924, son of the late Raymond and Dora (Schmit) Gomm in Greenville. On May 6th, 1947, he was united in marriage to Rosemary Hoffmann. They just celebrated 70 years of marriage. George farmed for 30 years in the Town of Maine. George was the Town of Maine clerk for 35 years, a member of the Board of Directors for Nichols Coop Association, a member of Shiocton School Board for 10 years, a trustee for St. Denis Catholic Church and a Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus.George loved traveling with his wife Rosie. They wintered in Texas for many years. He enjoyed camping, gardening, tinkering in the shop, aviation, and EAA. George will be remembered by many as a kind man who always had time for a great conversation.George is survived by his wife Rosemary; children, Phil Gomm, (special friend Penny Rohm); David (Julie) Gomm; Sue (Rick) Schlintz; Sally (Jamie) Wickesberg; foster children, Debra, Harland, and Danny; grandchildren: Josh (Amanda) Gomm; Scott Schoelzel (special friend, Abby Young); Steve (Mara) Schlintz; Laura Gomm (special friend, Domingo Garcia); Mason Gomm (special friend, Haylee Conradt); Sara Rohm and Miranda Rohm; great-grandchildren: Ethan White, Lilly, Jackson and Oscar Gomm, Maya Schoelzel, Charlie and Abe Schlintz; siblings, Germaine Croell; Kathleen Leeman; Rosella Zitzke and Raymond (Diane) Gomm; sister in-law Nancy Porter and brother in-law Gerald Jarek. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.He is preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Brandon Gomm and siblings, Lorraine Schroth, Jerome Gomm, Dorothy Jarek, Charles Gomm and Annaciel Gomm.Funeral mass for George will be held on Monday, October 2, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Denis Catholic Church, Shiocton, Fr. Richard Allen and Deacon Ken Bilgrien will be officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Meadow Wood Assisting Living, Good Shepherd Nursing Home and Unity Hospice for all their care and concern of George.
