George was born on December 11, 1929 to Hugh and Sarah Kerr in Belfast, Northern Ireland. There, he grew up with his siblings. George was a man of integrity, and enjoyed his career with Alberta Transportation and Highways for 37 years, retiring in 1991. George is survived by Mary Lou, his wife of 55 years and his three children Thomas (Val), Laurie (Bob) Jean, brother Gerry and sister Patricia, being a grandfather was his greatest joy and he will be sorely missed by his four grandchildren Julia, Geordie, Erik and Angela. George is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews in Canada, USA and Northern Ireland. George was predeceased by his parents Hugh and Sarah Kerr, siblings Hugh, Kathleen, Eddie and Thomas. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church (321 – 90th Avenue SE) on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
