Genevieve L. (Fenstermaker) Brosius, age 89, of Sigel, PA, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2016, at the McKinley Health Center, while in the presence of her loving family. She was born on February 10, 1927, in Beaver Twp., Jefferson County, to the late William and Orpha (Crawford) Fenstermaker. On January 9, 1951, she married Lee Brosius in Ohl, PA. For 60 years they supported and cared for each other and their family until his passing on October 24, 2011. After her time spent in school, Genevieve started working as an assembler at the Sylvania plant in Brookville. A few years passed and she changed her position and transitioned into working for the Brookville Area Schools as a cafeteria worker. When Lee's position finally allowed for it, she was able to stay at home and became a fulltime homemaker for her family; in service to her family was where she found her true joy. Genevieve was a member of the Sigel United Methodist Church. She had many hobbies that she enjoyed including cooking, baking, and she loved quilting with the Sigel Homemakers. She loved her time spent crafting with her friend MaryBeth. She was a collector of many things, most notably she collected Fostoria Glassware, and many, many, different types of dolls. She would volunteer at the Jefferson Manor in Brookville, which gave her and the people she worked with a sense a companionship and friendship. She was especially proud of achieving her personal goal as a member of T.O.P.S., Taking Off Pounds Sensibly. She lead a happy life and brought joy to those she knew. Genevieve is survived by 1 son; Perry L. (Luann) Brosius of Butler, PA; 1 daughter; Peggy L. (Michael W.) Smith of Summerville, PA; 1 granddaughter; Pamela L. (Brosius) Volz of Zelienople, PA; 2 grandsons; Mark R. (Elaine) Brosius of Pittsburgh, PA; Kirkland M. Smith of Summerville, PA; and 3 great-grandchildren; Paul and Paige Volz of Zelienople, PA; and Ava Brosius of Pittsburgh, PA.
