Gary Michael MonicoSan AngeloGary Michael Monico, 62, of San Angelo, passed away on Sept. 14, 2017, in San Antonio.He was born on Oct. 1, 1954 ,to Dominic and Florence (Hughes) Monico in Glendale, Arizona. He attended school at Immanuel Lutheran High School for four years. Gary worked as a Cryptologic Technician for the United States Navy. On Sept. 1, 1978, he married Angelita Sotor in Angeles City, Philippines. Due to Gary's military service, he and Angelita traveled to many different places and eventually settled in San Angelo, where he served his last tour of duty at Goodfellow Air Force Base. He retired and remained in San Angelo for the last 27 years. After retirement, he became a public servant at the Tom Green County Clerk's office eventually retiring after 20 years of public service.Gary is survived by his loving spouse of 39 years, Angelita Monico; two sons, Anthony Joseph Monico of San Angelo and Dominic Gerald Monico II of San Antonio; and brother Kevin Monico of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.He was preceded in death by his parents, Dominic and Florence Monico.Funeral service is at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at Holy Angels Catholic Church, San Angelo, with Father Balachandra Nagipogu officiating.
