Gary L. Reed, 74, of Frenchville, passed away Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, at Penn Highlands Clearfield.He was born on May 16, 1942, in Wilkinsburg, Pa., the son of the late Edgar W. Reed Sr. and Maxine (Ecklund) Reed.Gary was a member of Congress Hill United Methodist Church.He worked his whole life on his family's farm Rolling Acres Dairy Farm. He was a great help on the family farm. He enjoyed going to farm shows, the fair and the truck/tractor pulls. He loved his hot rod car magazines; he could tell you what type of an engine a car had just by the sound of it.Gary is survived by his four brothers and a sister: Edgar W. Reed Jr. and his wife Charlene R. of Troutville, James A. Reed and his wife Glenda M. of Woodland, David R. Reed and his wife Sally A. of Frenchville, Dawn E. Sankey and her husband Frank "Bud" of Clearfield and Dennis A. Reed of Grampian; ten nieces and nephews and 16 great nieces and nephews.A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016, at Congress Hill United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bob Henry officiating. Burial will be in Fruit Hill Cemetery.Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 22, at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., Clearfield.
