Gary H. Kanitz RACINE – Gary H. Kanitz, 60 passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2013 after battling cancer for a year. Gary was born on June 11, 1953 to the late Glenn ‘Rusty’ and Bette (Doemel) Kanitz, Gary accomplished many goals in his life. He got his GED in 1978, played wheelchair basketball and drove a car. Gary worked for Racine Private Police as a dispatcher, then at Good will for 20 years. He was a member of Racine Christian Reformed Church. Gary is survived by his sister, Cindy (Tom) Weal of Colorado, foster parents, Ron and Mary Braskamp; foster sisters, Patt (Charlie) Pennington, of VA and Sheila (Clint) Richardson of Union Grove, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Gary was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Funeral services will be held at Racine Christian Reformed Church, 900 Illinois St. on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Gary will be laid to rest at West Lawn Memorial Park Those wishing to remember Gary in a special way may direct memorials to the Racine Christian School.
