Gary Dwayne EricsonGary Dwayne Ericson, 48, of Cedar Park, Texas died peacefully in the early morning of May 31, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. Gary bravely fought a 3 year battle with ALS. A memorial service was held in Cedar Park Texas on Sunday June 4, 2017.Gary was born on August 2, 1968 in Austin, Texas to Paul and Iris (Harrison) Ericson. Gary grew up loving to play baseball and fish with his Dad and Popo. He graduated from Westwood High School in 1987. His love for the great outdoors was shared with his family and many friends. He enjoyed memorable moments hunting, fishing, attending Longhorn games, and spending weekends at NASCAR racing events. Gary met his wife Heidi (Slack) on a trip to South Dakota in July of 1994 while attending his sister's (Paula) wedding. Gary and Heidi were joined in marriage 10 years later on July 17, 2004 in Harrisburg, SD. Gary and Heidi welcomed the birth of their beautiful daughter Emery Faith on June 21 2010. Gary was a devoted father and Emery was the light of his life. Gary worked for the Nestle Corporation as a Sales Representative until ALS created a disability that prevented him from continuing to pursue his work. Gary experienced his first South Dakota Christmas during a blizzard. At that moment, he firmly decided that once married his family would be located in Texas. During Gary's illness, his mother and father graciously welcomed Gary, Heidi and Emery into their home at 1508 Terrace View Drive, Cedar Park, Texas 78613.Gary is survived by his wife Heidi (Slack), his daughter Emery, his parents, Paul and Iris Ericson all of Cedar Park and his sister Paula (Jim Slack) of Sioux Falls, SD. Gary gained many family members in the rural Sioux Falls and Harrisburg areas which included the families of the Jim Slacks (Paula Ericson), Greg Slacks and the Paulette Frislies (Oppolds).
