Garry ZUCKJune 1, 1952 – August 5, 2017Garry David Orest Zuck peacefully passed on August 5, 2017 after a 17 month battle with cancer. Gary was born on June 1, 1952 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, the first of 7 children. Garry is survived by his two sons Garry Miles Venne (Jamie), granddaughters Alexciah and Bailey of Lac La Ronge, and Orest Tristan Zuck of Prince Albert; his brothers, Dale (Joy), Brad (Lisa); his sisters Lorrie (John), Sharon (Norman), Shali (Shawn), Tanya (Lindsay) and many nieces and nephews; his good friend Linda Alberts; aunts and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Orest and Corrine Zuck. Garry called Saskatchewan home, building a life in Prince Albert close to the beautiful lakes and forests where he fished and hunted whenever he could, particularly Kingsmere Lake, a favourite of his. In his youth, Garry was introduced to the great outdoors by his father, Orest, who took him and his brothers fishing and hunting in northern Saskatchewan. Garry's love for the outdoors inspired him to attend Lakeland College in Vermilion, Alberta, graduating as a conservation officer. His career took him to various locations in Saskatchewan, where because of his friendly and easy-going nature he gained many long-lasting friendships. Garry looked at life as an adventure and took on new challenges whenever he had the opportunity. He applied himself and expanded his career transitioning into a Fire Control Specialist for the Saskatchewan Government. Garry was a regular concert goer and he loved all kinds of music. Another don't miss event for him was the annual Father's Day fishing derby in Lac la Ronge with his father, brother and friends. Above all he loved his sons Garry and Orest and his two granddaughters. Through the support of his good friend Linda, he was able to carry on living independently for as long as his health allowed. Garry demonstrated his love for family and friends by thinking of others and taking the time to phone or visit. Garry approached the world with his head up his heart open and his hands covered with fish slime. Things will never be the same again; they will be better. We will make them better because that is what Garry would have done. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on August 24, 2017 at Gray's Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert.
